About The Event
On Saturday, February 22nd, St. James will provide lunch in Bushnell Park for homeless men, women, and children. This program provides a healthy meal on a day when no soup kitchens are open. The afternoon begins with a Eucharistic service in the beautiful outdoors, followed by distribution of bagged lunches. From Church by the Pond (an outreach of our Cathedral): “We are all God's children and greet each other as brothers and sisters in Christ.” We put together 50 bagged lunches, which means 100 meat and cheese sandwiches. Donations are still needed for a few items and should be brought to the parish during the week leading up to February 22nd.
We also need 10–12 people in the church kitchen to make the sandwiches and pack the bags that Saturday morning at 11 am, and 8–10 people to serve the lunches in Bushnell Park at 2 pm. Older children are welcome…
