About The Event

On Sunday, June 9th, St. James Parish will celebrate the final major feast day this year until Christmas: The Feast of Pentecost (called Whitsunday). Pentecost celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the remaining Apostles, after Jesus had ascended into heaven; the beginning of the Church. Please join us at 10:15 a.m. for a festive service with red all around! We will celebrate the coming of Christ’s Spirit upon the disciples and our continuing ministry and life at St. James. After the 10:15 service, we will have a tables set up on the patio, or you can bring lawn chairs or blankets and eat on the lawn, or eat indoors (wherever you prefer to plant yourself). Hamburgers and hotdogs will be the food of the day! Please bring something to share (side dish or a dessert). We’ll have some games set up on the lawn and much fun planned for al!! Please mark your calendars and join us for a time of worship, community, fun and food!! Please wear something red (a t-shirt, knit-shirt, etc.) in honor of the coming of the Holy Spirit! The life of the Church continues in us!! There will be an 8 a.m. service (Rite I) offered on this day, as usual
