About The Event
Evensong is a combination of the old Vespers service – the next to last of the eight “hours” or daily offices said mostly by monastic communities – and the final office of the day, Compline. The Daily Offices of the Episcopal Church, from the ancient Catholic tradition (of eight offices), prayers that can be said daily, are essentially Morning Prayer, Noonday Prayer, Evening Prayer, and Compline. Evensong takes on many shapes and forms but is, essentially, the singing of the Evening Office or a combination of singing, readings, and prayers. On Saturday, May 13th at 6 p.m. we will engage in this ancient traditional worship and invite you to a wonderful service of Choral Evensong, the Evening Office in word and song/music, and stay afterwards for a time of reception and fellowship with refreshments in the parish hall. Eastertide is so often a time when we might drift away from church community and become distracted with many other activities. Easter is still with us — let us gather, during this joyous Easter season, as the flowers bloom and the trees leaf-out and share in the fellowship of Christ and glorify God in this unique way!! Hope to see you on Saturday, May 13th at 6 p.m.!
